Hey it's August already!
Where has time gone??? Heath and family were here the last week of July. Heath and Zach went fly fishing with a guide and caught 14 fish! Way to go!. Ali, David and Sarah went on a 3 hour horseback ride. Boy my knees would be killing me. The whole family went on a raft trip down the Arkansas. Wild and wet they said. We had a good time with them. Zach went with us to the Mounted shooting contest in Salida. That was interesting and a lot of fun. Glad they all could come and visit with us.
More ATV riding. Went to Bonanza, Colorado on one trip. It is an old mining town, with beautiful views along the way. Not easy, but not hard either. Took an alternative route back, which proved to be a little difficult. Loretta thought she spied a bear in the woods! Hmmm was it a marmot, Charlotte???. The best ride so far has been the 4 mile north trail, near Buena Vista. Trails were easy and fairly smooth. Stopped for lunch near a natural arch, called Aspen Arch. Need to cut the Aspen down so we could see the arch!!
After that trip I had the air box cover installed by the Yamaha dealer. I installed it but would not run right. It needed a different jet put in and he did it for nothing. Not soon after our last ride, we noticed the muffler was loud. I decided even though I had just put this muffler on, I was going to replace it with a stock muffler. The noise was just too much. In looking at the current muffler, I discovered that it had broken! It was broke at the location where the main pipe went into the exhaust! So we hauled it to the dealer and it is now waiting for the parts. Should be done on Wednesday. Sure miss it, as we enjoy our rides. Ron and Loretta couldn't wait any longer and went for a ride today.
Been prospecting for Gold. Bought a pan and have been panning the soil we find on our atv trips. I also have a metal detector. I have had it for a while and learned it can be used for gold nuggets! Haven't found any yet. Did find nails, pennies and some type of old tool or a gate latch, all in what you see. Finding more and more garnets. We have quite a few pea sized, that could be put in a setting.
We have gone to rodeos, carriage competitions and other events in Salida. So our summer is not dull. We will be here until September 1 and then we will move with Ron and Loretta to Lake City, Colorado, to visit with Victor and Charlotte. Looking forward to riding in that area. Will stay a month and then head to Maysville, Utah to ride the Piute Trails. Then on to Desert Trails.
Keep in touch!! Happy Trails.

Colorado Update
Heather, Mike and kids had a great time. We did a few things, like going to St. Elmo, an old ghost town. The highlight was all the chipmunks waiting to be fed! On the last day they were here, Haley and I went for a horseback ride! Great for Haley, but rough on the "old man" Needed help getting on and off and my right hip screamed, until we got the stirups adjusted. The knees also becan to complain near the end of the hour ride! Surprisingly, I was not sore the next day!. Haley had a great time and is now looking for a place that she can ride. They left that morning after the ride and arrived back home in Illinois the next day. Thanks for coming to visit us and to see how we "live"! Enjoyed the visit.
We have been riding the atvs about every 2 days and have about exhausted the local riding and will have to trailer the atvs for future rides. The river has gone down so we could continue on a trail that was underwater. Still one spot that is underwater, and then we can complete that trail.
Not a dull moment in the Salida area! The other day the bank was robbed, a car ran into the river ( do not know if anyone was injured) and a rude person from Michigan was hogging 2 parking spaces, one for his van and the other for his butt sticking out while he tied his shoes, claiming that I was to consider it "occupied"! After a few calm exchanges on my part, he left and I was able to squeeze in. Oh well, all kinds of people.
Today we went looking for some trails I had found on aerial maps and to find the garnet cliff. We found the garnet cliff! Stones filled with garnets just laying on the ground. We brought some back and I was able to extract some from the rock. Several smallpea sized. Plan on going back and looking in the gravel debri at the bottom of the cliff. Continued our ride and found 2 of the trails to be privte. The 3rd was a trail that led to maybe an old mine. Could not get to the next location as a gate had been closed with a padlock. (We didn't check to see if really locked, duh) So we headed back and found a shady spot, where it was cool and had lunch.
So much for today, tomorrow will have lunch with friends and relax. Then on Friday we will explore a new area with the atv.
Happy Trails.

Colorado
Our time in Idaho was short 3 days. We stayed again at Red Rock RV park. Gordon the owner recognized us from our stay 2 years ago, so it was like going home! We visited with Mike and Shar, and even had dinner with them. Thanks for the Salmon!!! We took a drive into Yellowstone. Started out with Brody, but before we made it 5 miles he started panting and shaking, so we took him back. Park was not too crowded, but the river was high and running fast! The snowfall in this area was way over their normal and the runoff has swollen all the area streams.
We left Idaho and took the East entrance out of Yellowstone, to Cody Wyoming. Our next stop, Absaroka Bay Rv Park, where Bill and Elaine Tabacinski camp host. Bill and Elaine took us to the Buffalo Bill Cody Historical Center
. Wow! What a museum, especially the Firearm Museum. We went 2 afternoons and still did not see all of the Museum!. Thanks Bill and Elaine for being great hosts!
We took a day trip up to the Beartooth Highway. Heralded as one of the most scenic drives in the United States, the Beartooth Highway, a National Scenic Byways All-American Road, features breathtaking views of the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains, and open high alpine plateaus dotted with countless glacial lakes, forested valleys, waterfalls and wildlife.
This is a view of some of the meadows along the route. Didn't see any wildlife, but what a beautiful drive. A must do if in the Yellowstone area!
We left Cody and headed east toward Cheyenne, Wyoming on our way to Howard, Colorado, where we will stay for the summer. Stayed at a nice park in Glendo. Large wide sites, quiet, we thought until we heard the ....train! Way out in nowhere! From there we decided to go on into Howard a day early. A nice drive but did run into some rain.
Our site was occupied so we took Ron and Loretta's' for 2-3 days. Couldn't get our internet, except through the parks wifi or the mifi card. Did just get tv! Finally moved to our spot. Ron and Loretta arrived a few days later.
We decided to go for an ATV ride with friends, Sterling and Rosie, up Kerr Gulch. Away we went, higher and higher. Went to where the cell towers for the area were, and then wnt higher to check out a trail for horses. On the way down the slope, our "Beast" died! Would not start!. Sterling came back and we worked on the carburetor and fuel pump and decided that it may have vapor locked. Blew air into tank to clear the fuel pickup and it started and ran!!! Let it run for a few minutes and then turned it off as we thought we solved the problem. Wrong! Now we could not get it started! We were sitting at the bottom of an 8-10% uphill grade. Sterling hooked my tow rope (bought after our last tow in AZ) and started towing us, spinning tires, clouds of dust and with a lot of pushing and winching we were able to get us up the slope. The tow back to the car (10 miles) went well.
On our way up the trail, we passed a car parked in the road, engine running, radio playing and now one around. We thought they were just in the woods, so we went on. Later on the way back, we came across the Sherrif, who stopped us and asked if we had seen anyone. Our friend and owner of the campground had also taken this trail in his truck and could not get by the car. He called out to see if anyone was around. Not getting a response he called the Sherrifs Dept. 3 days later they did find the man, dead in a dry creek bed. He was a drug user and had a history of hallucinations. Not a local, he was from Georgia. So our adventures are interesting at times!
July 6, my daughter and family arrived. They will be staying for a week. Yesterday Mike and Luke went fishing across the road from their cabin and caught 4 Rainbow trout! They cooked them for lunch! In the afternoon, while Loretta and Heather went shopping, we went atving with Ron and Loretta up into the Sand Gulch area, just north of the park. (I had the "beast" fixed. New fuel pump and jetting for the altitude) We were gone for a couple of hours and got to over 9600 feet. Tomorrow we head to St. Elmo and then into Buena Vista for a rodeo. More later.
Happy Trails.

Idaho bound
Our time in Medford was short and went by quickly, however we and especially Loretta got to spend some quality time with her 2 grandsons. Branden, who was graduating high school and TJ who is in college. It was fun and the boys are great!
We left on Sunday the 12th and headed to Burns, Oregon. The rv park was nothing special, just a place to stay. On next to Mountain Home, Idaho. An rv park called so I thought Mountain Home RV park, however, I put Mountain View RV park in the gps and we ended up staying there, which was about 35 miles away from where I wanted to stay. ONly discovered my mistake when I was looking up my next stop in Arco, ID, called Maountain View!. Wait a minute I thought we were staying in Mountain Home and then Mountain View hm we are in Mountain View... Oh wait a minute we should be in Mountain Home, ID not Boise! Duh, (slap to forehead) Where we stayed was okay, again just overnite. Our next stop would be Arco,ID at Mountain Home RV Park. A nice park outside of town with great views of the mountains. In fact part of the view included years painted on the high cliffs. High school tradition to paint your graduation year up there, when you are a senior, having the juniors haul your supplies up there! Not done so much now, kids are lazy, now too dangerous etc. It is quite a ways up there, have to use ropes and other climbing equipment. suprisingly very few serious injuries have occurred.
We stopped early enough so we could go to Craters of The Moon National Monument.
Crater of the Moon National Monument and Preserve encompasses the entire Great Rift volcanic rift zone. It contains a huge concentrations of volcanic landforms and structures along the more than 50 mile zone of fractures and eruptions. A composite field made up of about 60 lava flows and 25 cones, the Craters of the Moon lava field is the largest of its type in the lower 48 states. It is also the largest and most complex of the late Pleistocene and Holocene basaltic lava fields of the eastern Snake River Plain. It has nearly every feature associated with basaltic systems, and roads and trails offer convienient access to examples of most of the features. It was an interesting area! Very windy, but we were able to walk a couple of the trails.
The RV park provided a free 2 pancake,2 egg and drink breakfast! Last night we ate there and split a rib dinner, complete with a smoked potato! Ever have a smoked potato? They were great with just a hint of hickory smoke to them. Of course we are in Potato country!
I have a new navigation system!
The top unit is an Acer Iconia 500 Tabs. A tablet with a 10.1 screen, running Honeycomb an Android operating system. The bottom unit is my Garmin gps. Both will route, however, the Acer also has a navigsation system with satellite images. So I get told where to go and can see where I am going and what is ahead! It also puts Icons on the map for attractions, gas stations, etc. Pretty cool! Today I had them both giving me directions. The Acer is Alice and the Garmin Karen! Both gave me the same route. we also run our Verizons MiFi card, to get the images. Loretta also has an Acer Tablet and can look up things, play games etc while we are driving! While in Medford we got a call from our Verizon store in Morris, telling us we were eligible for a free upgrade on our MiFi card. This included a new card and cheaper monthly fee!. We went to a store in Medford and picked up our new card. All for free! and our plan was $10 cheaper each month. First time we have ever gotten anything free for being an existing customer!
We are now in Rexburg, ID. Was planning on doing some Cowboy Action, but the club here is having their annual Black powder shoot. I could have shot, but there was going to be a lot of people there, so I decided against it. Leaving on Friday to head to Red Rock RV park, in Island Lake, ID. Our friends Mike and Shar live there and we are hoping to get together with them. We also plan on going into Yellowstone a couple of times. Weather is supposed to be rainy, with some snow showers! Oh well so goes Spring in the Rockies! Our next stop will be in Cody, Wy. Driving through Yellowstone to get there. should be interesting. we have done it before, but to the south entrance on the east. We will be staying at the park Bill and Elaine are hosting at, so should have a good time.
So until later, keep in touch and Happy Trails.!

Oregon
We left Del Mar on the 24th and headed to Oregon. Most of our stay in CA. was overcast and cool. Nothing changed as we proceeded north to Oregon. Took our usual route, up the 15 to the 215 and then to US395. Really like this road. Good road, little traffic and scenic too. Stayed our first nite in Lone Pine at Boulder Creek. We have stayed here before and got a better rv site this time. Only an overnighter.
Continued north on 395 to Carson City, NV. Stayed at Camp-N-Town, an rv park in downtown Carson City. Nice for an overnight stay or if visiting the Capitol and museums. But alas it was cold, snowy and raining! We intended to walk to a Vietnamese restaurant across the street, but it was too rainy to do that and we did not want to unhook the car.
Our next destination, Likely, Ca. We took 395 to 139 and headed toward the Oregon/CA border, stopping for the night at Likely Place RV and Golf. A new park, built around a golf course. Very well done. It had a long driveway in, with range cattle along side the road! One of the hosts designed a golf course geocache, that took you aroud the park and golf course. Did not get a chance to do it as it was.... cold and rainy! This would have been a good place to stay for a few days and relax, oh well maybe next time.
Up early the next day, even Loretta! As I got ready to leave I noticed some unusual wear on my left front tire. So I made a mental note to buy tires in Oregon. No sales tax there. The tires are due to be replaced as they are 7 years old. Followed 139 to Oregon 140 to Klamath Falls, and continued northwest to White City, our current destination. This route took us up to about 5000+ feet. As it was raining off and on on our way, as we drove higher and higher, it turned to snow. Big wet flakes that stuck to the windshield. I think this was the first snow we have driven in since we first started full timing in 2003. It soon stopped as we were now descending to the valley. we arrived at Lakewood RV park safe and sound.
As we are in Oregon, and they have no sales tax, we decided to make a few purchases. Tires for the motorhome and car and a new recliner for Loretta. The last time I bought tires was in 2004. So off I go to Les Schwab tires. Boy what a shock I had when I found out the price of tires!! My last tires were about $250 ea. These were going to cost me $600 a piece!! So I made a decision to only replace the front tires at this time and the car tires as well. Still spent over $2300 for tires and alignment! Oh well thats the price we pay to live on the road! Still cheaper than living in a stick house with property taxes, a yard to mow and snow to shovel!
The kids and grandkids are doing great. We are having a good time. Branden and TJ are finishing up classes, so are very busy. Branden will graduate on the 11th. TJ will head ofF to California for College in the fall and Branden to OSU.
Going to a cowboy shoot tomorrow, just down the road from the RV park. Should be fun. Loretta will not shoot. Her foot is healing fine and she is walking more and more without the crutches.
So till next time, keep in touch and Happy Trails.

On the road again
We left Desert Trails on May 5th and headed to Parker az. First we stopped in Sun Lakes, AZ to see our friend Ray and Pat Corlew and their new house. After a fine visit and lunch we left for the Parker area, staying at one of our member parks, for $10.00 per nite.
We arrived in Desert Hot Springs and stayed at another member park, for again $10. We traveled through Joshua Tree NM. As Loretta could not walk far, we visited the visitor center and did a windshield tour of the park. It is a high desert, with big boulders and unique plants. The Joshua tree was so named by the Mormons because it looked like Joshua standing with his arms outreaching to the heavens. Very pretty area especially the views into the valley.
We meet up with more classmates, who live in Indio. Gary and Carol Gunderson and their grandson, Ryan. It was good to catch up on the happenings in our lives. Ryan is a cool young man! He is 11 and wants to be a cowboy when he grows up! He even wore a coat his grandma made for him and brought his globes and cowboy hat. Of course I had to show him some real pistols! Ryan has had numerous operation since he was a baby, but he has a huge spirit and nothing dampens it. Way to go Ryan!
We arrived in Del Mar,Ca to cool weather! Nothing like AZ! It was quite windy on the way down. We have been spending our time between our 2 daughters and the grandchildren. Thursday we will meet up with friends from Desert Trails, Stan and Judy St. John. They are workkamping about an hour north of us.
We will be leaving here on the 24th to begin our journey to Medford to visit with family and friends.
Happy Trails and keep in touch.

Spring in Arizona
Spring this year has been hot! Mid to upper 80's and one day close to 100! I have always enjoyed spring in the Midwest and I do miss it. The wildflowers, poking their heads up, greeting you on an early April morning. Almost saying hello friend, long time no see! Everywhere you look things are turning green. The trees are leaving out, bushes have their blooms and of course the birds are singing there welcome warm weather songs.
Here in Arizona, it is a lot less dramatic, it almost sneaks up on you. One day it is all brown and the next day you begin to see spots of green. In fact you have to readjust you thinking about spring to see the color changes! Mesquite trees quietly produce leaves and then their yellow flowers! Cactus begin their blooming with buds and then one day they flower! The mountains from a distance look drab and dreary and then they begin to look like giant chiapets! Yes spring in Arizona is different and you have to look closely to see the changes, but it is nothing compared to an Illinois spring!
Our friends, Ron and Loretta and Victor and Charlotte went on another atv adventure. However it was windy and dusty and Loretta was unable to go. This would have been the first time since her operation to ride the atv. We went to the Ironwood Forest National Monument. To view the map you may need to click on the X to close the graph.
Ironwood Forest National Monument
EveryTrail -We will be hauling the atv to Howard Co on April 25th and dropping it off. Will stay and visit for a day or so and then head back to Tucson.
Loretta got good news, her foot is healing perfectly and in 2 weeks should be able to walk without crutches etc. That also means we can leave here around the first of May. We will head to Parker Az and Lake Havasu, then to Joshua Tree National Park, and then try to stop and see some classmates who live in Indio, Ca. Then on to San Diego to see kids and grandkids.
Keep in touch.
Happy Trails!!!!

Happy St. Paddy's Day
Are you wearing green and enjoying a Guinness? A friend emailed me that I haven't updated the blog for awhile! So here I go.
In February Kyoko Wyatt, Pericles Wyatt's wife passed away. Her passing left a big hole in all of our lives. RIP Kyoko.
The park has been full and still remains full now. One leaves and another comes to fill the spot. We have been geocaching, twice a month. Our group has grown! We had over 4o folks go last week! Our shooting group has grown as well. Yesterday, thanks to Bill and Elaine or as they are known in the Cowboy action circle, Yellowstone Bill and six Gun Annie, we held a .22 Cowboy action shoot. We had about 8 folks come out to shoot and 5-6 to watch! Thanks Bill and Annie! I took first for men. Bill did not compete for a certificate, but did shoot and he only beat me by a few thousands of a second! We shoot the REAL Cowboy action match on Sunday. I plan on wearing my kilt! I wore it yesterday and it was way cooler than long pants, didn't way so much and I could maneuver a lot faster.
We have been doing some UTV riding in the Santa Rita mountains. Di lose my muffle, but found it. It was the insert, and I put it back in. Lost it again on the next trip!. Come to find out that the insert did not have the baffles around it! No wonder it was a little loud!. Bought a new muffler $$$$! In order to install it we had to take the roll cage off, the back seat out and then raise the dump bed. As a friend started to unbolt the roll cage, several guys came over to help. Pretty soon I had 3 guys installing the muffler and 3-4 watching!. I call it my Tom Sawyer project! Now it is much quieter.
A week ago Loretta had her foot operated on for bunions and hammer toes. She is now unable to walk without crutches or the knee scooter. Everything is fine and the pain was less than expected.
I received confirmation the other day that I have gone from pre diabetic to diabetic. I am on pills twice a day, to lower my blood sugar. I am trying to exercise more and eat more of the right stuff.
We will be traveling to Colorado in mid April, to deliver the Rhino to the campground we will be staying at this summer. Then back to AZ till we leave in May, for California, Oregon, Idaho and Wyoming, before we settle into Howard, Colorado for the summer.
I am excited, as Heath and Heather and families will be visiting us in Colorado for a few days, as we are not going back to Illinois this fall. Hopefully the trip will allow them to get out of Illinois and see the USA.
I hope all are doing well and have had a good winter, despite the snow in some areas. Drop us a line or two and let us know how you are doing and where you might be.
Happy Trails!!!

Christmas in Arizona
Wow! Has the time gone by fast! It seems like we were just in California seeing the kids, and now it is almost Christmas!
We left California on the 14th of October, with a cloud over us. The starter batteries on the motorhome needed help from the house batteries to start the motorhome. Once started they seemed to be charging. When we stopped for fuel across the Cal/AZ border, I shut the engine off and alas it would not restart! Fortunetly the station had a starter box to jump start us! Normally we would split the trip to Desert Trails into an overnite trip, but with bad batteries, we decided to do it in one day. If we were to need to start again we figured it best to be at our destination.
The "dead" starter batteries, caused several problems. apparently they had a cell shorted out, which produced a feedback to the propane gas detector and that caused the gas valve to shut off! No propane. Also the idiot lights for the fresh water etc guages did not work as well. Replaced the batteries and everything started working again!
It was "warm" when we arrived, but it cooled off nice at night. Just how we like it. Met our friends, Ron and Rhonda, Ron and Loretta as well as many others that we hadn't seen for a year. We soon settled in to a routine.
I took a train back to Illinois for Thanksgiving. Love taking the train. We did have 2 incidents! The first was on the way to Illinois. We hit a pedestrian near Gladewater, TX! The second was on our way back. The train lost a set of their air brakes! A leak in an air tank! We were delayed about 2 hours for both incidents.
Had a great time visiting family, during Thanksgiving, but was good to be back to the warm Arizona weather! Now Illinois has had several snow storms since I have returned, with cold cold temperatures!
Loretta went to San Diego, after we got here to Desert Trails, taking our granddaughter Taylor back home. Taylor came with us to Tucson for a week.
It is now January 12,2011! I started on this before Christmas!!! The New Year snuck up on me! Sometime before Christmas, we bought a new toy. A 2006 Yamaha Rhino. A four place UTV. We have been having a ball riding in the desert, with Ron and Loretta.
Yesterday we went to a new area, where there are a lot of old mines. We rode for almost 4 hours and 19.1 miles. Some of the trails were interesting to say the least!
To the right is a picture of the map I created after our trip. I had way pointed all the crossroads, giving me some idea where we where on the trails. The Beast (Lorettas' name for the rhino) has a Lowrance gps, but it does not have any good maps, but I can upload waypoints etc. So I just went from one way point to another, using the map to see where we were and where I wanted to go. Next week we will explore a different area near Green Valley.
I have started a Facebook page called Friends of Desert Trails. If you have stayed here in the past or have friends that stay here, do a search for the Friends of Desert Trails RV Park and request to join. This page gives all an opportunity to see what is happening and keep in touch with old and new friends.
Well I have written enough for now and will try to do it more often!
Happy Trails

On our way
Before I write about our time in Howard, I would like to honor a dear friend Ruth Denny who went to be with the Lord, who she loved, on Sunday September 19th. Loretta and I will miss you. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality last fall, when we stopped for a visit. Please take a moment and say a prayer for Ivan and the rest of the family, who are missing a mom, grandma and a wife.
We had a wonderful time in Howard, at Bandera's Bunkhouse! Thanks Dave and Theresa! The area is beautiful. We visited Leadville, Cripple Creek, Victor, and Aspen. We were able to see the aspens changing to a warm gold, high in the mountains. We were able to share a weekend with my cousin, Melissa Swapp and family, we were able to visit with the Meadows, John and Leora, Ben Leedle and Charlie and Helen Reed. All winter Texas, that we got to know when we wintered in Kerrville. We also made new friends too, Jim and Janet.
We have moved on. We had planned to go to Durango and then Cortez, but the weather was to be not so good. Heavy rainfall with possible flooding! So we went to Monument Valley instead. We almost had to go to plan C, when we missed the turn to the Valley and had to drive about 10 miles to find a place to turn around! We got turned around and arrived at our campsite late afternoon. Yes it rained, but not very hard. Tomorrow we take a 3.5 hour tour of the Valley. The weather looks like it will be sunny, so we should get some good pictures.
Then it is on to Las Vegas, with a stop in Kanab, Utah. Stay in Vegas to see some of the inside of the casinos, we did not see the last time we were there. Also we hope to meet up with a friend from Illinois for supper Saturday night. Then it is on to San Diego, visit with the kids there, before we head to Tucson for the winter.
It has been great to see the fall in a different location! We have seen spring in South Carolina, winter in Arizona, summer in Idaho and now fall in Colorado! That is why we do this to have new experiences, meet new and old friends and to see the beauty that is called the USA!!! God Bless America!
Happy Trails! Keep in touch!

Howard Colorado
We arrived at Banderas Bunkhouse on the 22nd. Our route took us to Apple Valley, MN, where our friends Dave and Diane live. We stayed in a local Regional park, that was very nice and easy to get too. Had a great supper and good conversation with Dave and Dianne.
Left Minnesota and headed to Rapid City and Mount Rushmore. We both had been here before, but almost 40 years ago. Obviously things have changed! We found a nice park south of Rapid City, Rafter J. Nestled in the mountains, with great views. Mount Rushmore has changed a lot. Parking garages, a new outside auditorium and a better lighting system. We arrived in time for the lighting ceremony. It was very touching and brought a tear to the eye. The next day we went for a ride around the area and found the main herd of Buffalo. Of course they were in the road and stopped traffic! Also saw the wild herd of Burros, out begging for food.
Banderas Bunkhouse (http://www.banderasbunkhouse.com/) is a small RV/Cabin/Motel along the Arkansas river. It has about 13 rv sites and 3 cabins and several motel rooms. Dave and Teresa White are the owners and are very friendly!! Really made us feel at home. Ron and Loretta Shuman are here and greeted us warmly. We have a great site, parallel to the river. See the home page for pictures of the river.
Banderas puts on a Cowboy dinner, with some great entertainment. In addition to the food and show, Dave hitches up the Belgium horses to the covered wagon and takes you for a ride, complete with a narrative history of the area. Last night was Brodys' debut as part of the show! I dressed in my cowboy duds +guns and Brody his neckerchief and we did his skit to show off his tricks. He was a hit and will be invited back for the Labor day weekend show!
We will spend about a month here before we move on to Durango and the Four Corners area of Colorado. We do love this area! Mountains, clear streams, and wide open areas too. The weather is also a big plus. We like it so well we have made reservations for next July and August.
Keep in touch and drop us an email or give us a call. Happy Trails
